Investigators found Khandalyce Pearce’s birth certificate in a house that has links to the alleged murderer of her mother, Karlie Pearce-Stevenson. Daniel Holdom, 41, was charged with the murder of Pearce-Stevenson from Alice Springs. He was refused bail last month. His case was mentioned briefly on Thursday at Sydney’s Central Local court.

The remains of two-year-old Khandalyce was discovered in July, stashed in a suitcase beside a highway in Wynarka, South Australia. The two cases were linked in October when the police found that the bodies that were discovered five years apart belonged to the mother and daughter.

It is understood that the investigators searched Holdom’s sister’s home after they announced their latest breakthrough in the case. Days after the deaths of the mother-daughter duo, police discovered a number of fraudulent cases that were carried out in a number of states using their identities. The fraudulent activities involved at least three people who withdrew $90,000 from Pearce-Stevenson’s account by using her identity documents. Investigations on a company under the name of Karlie Jade Stevenson are also being undertaken by the police. Business records have revealed that Holdom had registered himself as the sole trader in 2001. According to records, he was also called Daniel Marshall.

However, no charges have been brought against Holdom for the murder of Khandalyce. Hazel Passmore, a former girlfriend of Holdom, was also questioned by police in South Australia. Passmore lost her two children and her ability to walk after Holdom crashed a car all of them were riding in.

According to court documents, in January 2013, police found a card bearing the name K Pearce-Stevenson in Holdom’s wallet. The key card had expired when it was found and the bank had also changed the name.
