Kate Middleton and Prince William Named Top Newsmakers of the Year by Canadians [PHOTOS]

Canada's Maclean's magazine has named Kate Middleton and Prince William as the top newsmakers of the year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge surely made a splash this year, with every single happening in their relationship reported in every tabloid and many news sites. One major contribution to this cargo of royal couple news is the Duchess' fashion sense. It seems that all fashion critics, bloggers, and magazines worldwide are always on the lookout for Middleton's ensembles.

Another would be the North American tour the couple embarked not too long ago. After visiting several places in the Maple Leaf country, the pair headed to California and made huge splash to Hollywood celebrities and Western fans.

"They were never very far from the headlines this year. And at every stop on their Canadian tour, the crowds were captivated by a very modern royal couple." says Mark Stevenson, Canada Maclean's editor-in-chief.

Another Canadian newspaper praised the royal couple for their elegant and always respectable personas, saying that the two "gave the monarchy new blood and relevance".

It also helps that the two are always seen cuddling without hesitation to show public displays of affection. With the way they respond to each other during public appearances, the young and attractive couple makes the media gush.

The royal couple's overflowing love and affection to each other surely makes the masses' interest gravitate towards stories about them, without negative remarks whatsoever.
