A reunion of former middle school schoolmates happened in a bond court on June 30 -- one sitting in the judge’s chair, the other on the defendant’s dock. After setting a bail of about $57,000 for Arthur Booth, Miami-Dade judge Mindy Glazer asked him a question that prompted the man to breakdown: “Did you go to Nautilus? For middle school?”

Upon recognising the judge, Booth hid his face while he kept on saying, “oh my goodness,” over and over again. The judge then said how she was sorry to see her former classmate in there [dock] since she always wondered what happened to Booth. She remembered how he was “the nicest kid in middle school” and how she used to play football with him together with the other kids.

The magistrate then hoped Booth will be able to “change his ways” and then wished him luck. She smiled before musing, “What’s sad is how old we’ve become.”

Once again, she wished her former school mate good luck, adding how she hoped Booth will come out better from the experience and will be able “to lead a lawful life.” All throughout the judge’s dialogue, Booth, overcome with emotions, was unable to respond with any coherent reply except for “oh my goodness.”

Arthur Booth was arrested on Monday by the Hialeah Police according to NBC Miami. His charge sheets include offences like burglary, grand theft, fleeing and resisting arrest.

Booth was seen cruising in a gold Honda Accord, which was a suspected vehicle used by someone involved in a home robbery. When he was flagged by police, he did not stop, and instead fled, which lead to a pursuit. Booth violated traffic signs and got involved in a couple of accidents. After he crashed the car, he abandoned it, choosing to flee on foot. He was caught moments later.

It is unknown whether Booth hired an attorney to defend him or if he had already posted bail. One video of the exchange garnered more than 5.7 million views on Youtube since it was uploaded on Thursday.
