Hollywood's hottest and rock and roll's finest Johhny Depp and Keith Richards, respectively showed up for the GQ "Men of the Year" awards in London on Sept. 6.

Johnny Depp, who's famous for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie Pirates of the Carribean, showed up at last night's GQ man of the year award with musician Keith Richards. Richards, who plays guitar for legendary band "The Rolling Stones," has always been associated with the actor since it was his natural persona that inspired Depp for his "Jack Sparrow" role. Richards was one of the honorees that night, winning the "Writer of the Year" award for his cleverly-penned autobiography entitled "Life."

Depp was seen all night hanging around the musician's company, proving that the two share a bond akin to a relationship of a genius and his protégé. Richards is not the only rock and roll superstar that Depp is friendly with, the "Sweeney Todd" actor is also pals with former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, and legend Alice Cooper.

Richards is quite popular for his "rock star lifestyle" riddled with drug use while writing many hit songs with band mate Mick Jagger and Brian Jones. Richards has confirmed that his autobiography has recently been booked for production to turn it into a movie, something that most music fans would love to see. Since Depp and Jones are not only close, but talent coaches to each other, it's not so surprising if Depp lands the lead role of this exciting Keith Richards film. When asked about casting, Richard seems to have a hard time defining who he wants to portray his legacy on the big screen.

"There are feelers out at the minute [but] I'm in no rush right at the moment. Also, how are they going to find me? The idea of a succession of Keith Richards coming down is horrifying," says Richards in an interview posted at the Daily Telegraph.
