“Home and Away” recap

On Monday, Evie was driving way too fast as Mason panicked on the passenger seat. She kept insisting that nothing’s going to happen – her twin, she said, is protecting her. Mason screamed for Evie to slow down, but when she refused, he pulled the handbrake. The car skidded to a stop, missing a tree by a hairline. Evie lashed at Mason and an argument ensued. Evie stood her ground and said Oscar’s still there, but Mason told her to wake up and face reality.

When Evie left on her own, Mason went to seek help from Leah and Zac. Mason also tried to track down Evie, who was at the beach, “talking” to Oscar. She perched on a big rock and cried for Oscar’s name. She seemed to have realised something, went down the rock and headed off somewhere. A moment later, she’s seen swimming as far as she could. In the middle of the ocean, she continued begging Oscar to show himself. However, her screams for her brother turned to cries for help as she frantically swam to the shore. Evie couldn’t swim any further and lost consciousness, sinking dangerously below.

Tori bumped into Duncan at the beach and the two checked up on each other. However, Tori cut their conversation short when Duncan brought up Justin and what he knows about the plane crash. Later, Nate, Tori and Justin brought Brody home from the hospital. As she was thanking Nate, Tori could not help but become emotional and the two seemed to share a warm moment before Nate left. Justin and Brody looked at Tori knowingly, but she cautioned them not to say a word.

Later, Justin accused Tori of stringing along both Nate and Duncan, but she said nothing’s going on with her and either of the guys. She then brought up the “rules,” and Justin said he reckons it’s time they ditch it, given what they’ve just gone through. However, Tori insisted they can’t get other people involved and dragged into their mess. She then walked off and went to see Duncan to apologise. Duncan was still busy figuring out what happened that caused the plane crash, but ultimately blamed himself. Tori comforted him, telling him he did everything he could. She also urged him to stop investigating and just accept that it’s just an accident.

Tori told Justin about her worries – that Duncan was still determined to find out the cause of the plane crash. Justin assured her that their secret’s safe, then brought up the subject again of changing the family’s rules about pursuing relationships. However, Tori said she can’t have any feelings for a man – she couldn’t even reveal her own name. Justin persisted and he seems to have finally cracked Tori.
