Ed Sheeran left the cast and crew of the Australian TV show “Home and Away” starstruck when he visited the set to film his cameo scenes. Alec Snow, who plays Matt Page, revealed what it was like having the British singer on the set.

Snow thought it was “funny seeing how starstruck everyone both on- and off-set was” when they saw the British crooner. The effect Ed had on everyone on the set of “Home and Away” was what he called “quite entertaining.” Snow also had some nice words to say about the singer during his short stint on the set to film his cameo scenes for the TV series.

“It was an awesome experience filming with Ed because he seemed like a really down-to-earth, nice guy that genuinely wanted to be there,” Alec said in The Guardian report.

Ed was in Australia for a tour earlier this year when he filmed his scenes for the long-running soap, according to The Guardian. In his cameo appearance, the singer plays Teddy, one of the children that Marilyn Chambers, played by Emily Symons, took care of as a nanny when she resided in the United Kingdom.

The singer’s participation in the TV show has a touch of reality since he will reportedly be portraying as himself. Ed’s cameo scenes involve him visiting Summer Bay as a grown up man and to the surprise of everyone, he turns out to be the famous chart-topping musician. He even treats them to a special performance in the diner.

A photo shared by Mirror UK shows the musician with Symons, waving as they walked along the beach. It’s believed Ed is the only international sensation to have a guest appearance in “Home and Away” after Australian pop singer John Farnham’s cameo in the 1980s.

Talking about his cameo appearance in “Home and Away,” the singer said, “I got asked to do it and it sounded like it could be fun.” Ed, who also had a short stint doing some scenes in “Shortland Street” in New Zealand teased that he may also appear in other shows in England such as “EastEnders” or “Emmerdale” if ever he gets asked to do so.

Ed’s cameo appearance in Australia’s “Home and Away” is expected to air in the UK on Channel 5 in the winter.
