Google Glass has updated a long list of possible new features that could extend far beyond "OK Glass" as it includes voice commands like "translate this," "call me a car," and "tune an instrument." Certain commands work with specific applications that the Glass' "take a note" command, for example, will virtually jot down notes within Evernote. It also has a "Post Update" command.

Other examples include the "find a recipe" command that is used with "KitchMe," an app which currently allows Explorers to forward recipes to Glass. A "play a game" voice command could be used with existing Glass game apps and perhaps other game developments in the future.

Apart from the new eye commands such as a "double blink" detector and "take a photo" command through winking, there are 19 new voice commands like call me a car, check me in, capture a panorama, learn a song, create a 3D model, play music, play a game, remind me to, record a recipe, start a bike ride, show a compass, start a round of golf, add a calendar event, start a stop watch, start a timer, start a run, translate this and tune an instrument.

The Google Glass also puts emphasis on music, now with a layout for album names, track names, artist's names and album art which pairs neatly with the new "play music" command. This will likely be used for remote controlled music, either by using Glass to control music on the phone or tablet or playing music through Glass itself. The functionalities will come directly to Glass through apps in the Glassware Boutique.

Microsoft is reportedly testing prototypes similar to the Google Glass, which includes Internet capabilities and a camera. Microsoft has been collaborating with Asian Manufacturers to deliver the components of the said device, which may not be available to the mass market.

Microsoft was first to introduce a smartwatch early in the 2000s but it has been quiet on the wearable technology category. Google Glass has been well received in 2013 but it may not be as big as it seems. 140 million smartwatch shipments are expected annually by 2018 but only 75 million smart glasses are expected on the same year.
