'Girl Meets World' season 3 episode 6 spoilers: Nostalgia sets in as Maya and Riley visit Uncle Shawn Hunter in 'Girl Meets Upstate'

Season 3 Episode 6 of “Girl Meets World” will be quite nostalgic for fans of the original series as flashback scenes are shown and an old character returns.

ET Online writes that Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong), the former bad boy of “Boy Meets World,” will make a special flashback in the episode. Riley and Maya will travel to Shawn’s house to ask for advice about finding one’s personal identity and how friends can influence each other.

The episode will provide flashbacks to special moments in the original series as Shawn looks back at his past with Riley’s dad, Cory (Ben Savage). Shawn describes how Cory only wanted to be like him when he first met the man.

The flashback scene featured Cory and Shawn sitting in their booth at Chubbie’s. Cory was being neurotic and getting very excited about being cool. Shawn told him that they are different and asked what else Cory needs to know.

The older Shawn subsequently emphasized that it was ridiculous for Cory to aim to be just like him when they were younger. He described how Cory had a great family and parents who were always there for him. Also, Cory met Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and how it was challenging for him to be in high school while the two were so in love with each other.

According to Hof Mag , Episode 6 will show whether Riley will succeed in boosting Maya’s confidence, after the latter was concerned that she was losing her identity and being overshadowed by her best friend in high school. Maya has been showing a lot of changes lately like improving academically and being more organized.

However, they agree that the old Maya should be back soon and try to get some help from Shawn. Fans have been comparing Maya and Shawn for some time, so the latter may have some great insight to help her get back on track.

Bustle notes that Shawn may also propose to Katy (Cheryl Texeira) soon and start a real family with her and Maya.

There are also speculations that more about the love triangle between Maya, Riley and Lucas (Peyton Meyer) will be covered in “Girl Meets Upstate.”
