The MSI GE40 gaming laptop was released last week and the company has begun shipping. The The MSI GE40 is MSI's latest game offering. The company promises better gaming and portable experience.

GE40 is 14 inches and only weighs 4.4 pounds. It is 10 inches thick and runs of Intel's Haswell. With the new processor on board, this gaming laptop not just promises exceptional gaming experience but also almost all day access. Haswell is best known for increasing battery life for many laptops today.

The laptop comes with a unique Black Aluminum lid and a Dragon Eyes design. To ensure gamers can have the time of their life, MSI built in PC capacities in the new GE40. Other features include 2.20 GHz Intel Core i7-4702MQ (6M Cache, up to 3.20 GHz Turbo Boost) quad-core central processor from Intel. The processor supports the system requirements for many of today's popular computer games.

Every MSI GE40 shipped also has a pre-installed RAM. Specifically, this is around 8GB of DDR3 clocked at 1600MHz. Owners have the option to upgrade their RAM depending on their requirements. The laptop comes with two sticks of ram allowing up to 16GB (8GB x 2) of DDR3 RAM as per user request or needs. The laptop's design makes it convenient to access RAM and switch it.

Currently, MSI offers two models of MSI GE40 for shipment. These are the MSI GE40 2OC-008US and the MSI GE40 2OC-009US. The two models have similar features except for their storage drives. The MSI GE40 2OC-008US has 750GB HDD (7200RPM) whereas the MSI GE40 2OC-oo9US comes has two drivers: 128GB mSATA SSD and a 750GB HDD (7200RPM).

The MSI GE40 2OC-008US starts at $1,299.99. The good thing about having two drives is the versatility and increased capacity of the laptop. The first drive is a SSD serving as the primary OS drive. The GE40 2OC-009US is only $100 higher than the other model.
