"The Flash" Season 1, Episode 8, titled "Flash vs. Arrow," aired Tuesday, Dec. 2 on The CW. Many fans are thrilled over the special Arrow crossover episode, which manages to deliver some splendid moments featuring the every-witty supporting characters.

Spoiler alert: This review recaps the highlights of The Flash Season 1, Episode 8.

Oliver Queen, aka The Arrow, is gloomy, grim and stiff. Barry Allen, aka The Flash, is relaxed, funny and much younger. Ollie refuses to call the villain of the week a metahuman (Ray Bivolo). Barry, on the other hand, says things like "the feels." The contrast between the two DC Comics superheroes are beautifully (and comically) highlighted in The CW's The Flash.

To quickly recap The Flash Season 1, Episode 8, Ray Bivolo activates Barry's rage switch, and Oliver Queen becomes the human "cold gun" to calm him down. In the process, Ollie's identity as The Arrow is revealed to Dr Wells and his team. Cisco couldn't be more thrilled about The Arrow's identity.

"I had a cousin who was struck by lightning once. He just developed a stutter," John Diggle tells Barry Allen in the first part of The Flash and Arrow crossover episode. Later in The Flash Season 1, Episode 8, Diggle and Cisco bet on who is going to win in the fight between Barry Allen and Oliver Queen.

"It's a tie," Cisco decides, after Ollie has successfully slowed down Barry, just in time for Dr Wells and Joe to reverse the effect of Bivolo's rage effect. Ollie is badly hurt, but the two of them manage to throw Bivolo in the STAR Labs cell. The Flash Season 1, Episode 8 seals the friendship between Barry and Ollie.

Flash vs. Arrow, in its entirety, is like a big holiday present for the avid viewers of both Arrow and The Flash. Felicity Smoak even has a line for it: "Happy Hanukkah!"

Firestorm shows up at the end of The Flash Season 1, Episode 8, which means the DC Comics character and his fiancé Caitlin are close to a reunion. Meanwhile, Ollie runs into the mother of his child. (Arrow viewers would remember that Moira knows her grandson is in Central City.)

Ollie teaches Barry the value of precision in this week's new episode. He shoots The Flash some arrows in the back just to be clear about his point. Evidently, the team behind the show know precisely what to do with this special crossover.

Showrunners Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg took care of the story, while Ben Sokolowski and Brooke Eikmeier get the credit for the entertaining lines delivered by everyone in the show. Glen Winter directed The Flash Season 1, Episode 8.

The crossover continues in Arrow Season 3, Episode 8. The Flash returns next week on The CW. Barry Allen and Reverse Flash are in for a face-off.
