Dog The Bounty Hunter Now Involved In Laundrie Search

Duane Chapman, also known as the Dog the Bounty Hunter, showed up at Brian Laundrie's parents' home in North Port, Florida, on Saturday to speak about their son’s whereabouts.

Laundrie's mother called 911 on Chapman.

In an audio recording released Monday, a dispatcher "referenced a situation with the male" who is believed to be Chapman in a call from Laundrie's mother.

Chapman had said Sunday that he would volunteer to help in the search for Laundrie, who has gone missing after the disappearance of Laundrie's deceased fiance Gabby Petito.

“It’s a shame they wouldn’t speak with us,” Chapman told Fox News on Monday.

"Dog the Bounty Hunter" was a reality television show that aired from 2004 to 2012 on A&E and involved Chapman tracking down fugitives.

“The police said we were welcome to knock on the door, so we did. I wanted to tell the Laundries that our goal is to find Brian and bring him in alive," Chapman said.

Chapman has insisted that he will find Laundrie and that he is already chasing multiple leads. He reportedly left on his own when police arrived at the Laundrie home.

North Port police have had to respond to several calls from the Laundrie family due to the intense media coverage of Brian Laundrie and the death of Petito, who had gained a following on social media.

There has been heightened speculation about Laundrie's whereabouts and what information his parents might know about where Laundrie may have gone.

"Chris and Roberta Laundrie do not know where Brian is," the family's attorney Steven Bertolino said in a statement. "They are concerned about Brian and hope the FBI can locate him. The speculation by the public and some in the press that the parents assisted Brian in leaving the family home or in avoiding arrest on a warrant that was issued after Brian had already been missing for several days is just wrong."
