The first half of “Designated Survivor” ended with a lot of questions from its viewers. As the show nears its return in March, it is certain that things are going to get a lot worse than they were before the break. This holds true especially for FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) and President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland). While Wells was falsely accused of firing her gun during the Vice President’s inauguration, the President will have someone close to him get wheeled into an operation room.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Designated Survivor” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens before the next episode airs.

The ABC website has already released the official synopsis and it looks like the second half of the season will be opening up with a lot of trouble. It provides that the nation will be reeling in from the aftermath of the shooting on the steps on the Capitol. In the meantime, Emily Rhodes (Italia Ricci) will struggle with the knowledge that there could be a traitor from within the walls of the White House. Simultaneously, Agent Wells will go head on with her decision to reveal everything she knows about the conspiracy that lies behind the attack.

Back in the mid-season finale, Emily found out that the Presidential Chief of Staff and her own love item, Aaron Shore (Adan Canto), could have been closely involved in handing out the blueprints of the Capitol bombing to notorious terrorist group Al-Sakar. Things got fully messed up when Wells uncovered Catalan’s plan to assassinate President Kirkman during the VP ceremony. The event was designed to swear in Congressman Peter MacLeish (Ashley Zukerman) as the country’s new Vice President.

Agent Wells found an open window in a building just across where the ceremony would be happening. As she wanted to prevent the sniper from actually killing the President of the United States, Agent Wells took a shot at the direction of the open window just before Catalan’s shot was fired. This caused the bullet to change course and could have struck someone else on stage.

When “Designated Survivor” returns next week, one of the biggest cliffhangers will finally be answered. Fans will finally know who had been struck by that bullet that was fired earlier. However, fans might have to wait a little bit longer before really discovering who had been hit by that bullet -- and whether or not they will survive.

Designated Survivor”season 1 will resume airing in March 8 on ABC in the US. It also airs on Netflix US and Netflix Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
