As “X Factor Australia” Season 5 winner Dami Im gears up for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in May, she has decided to keep her fans updated on her preparations via a video log.

On her YouTube channel, the 27-year-old Korean-Australian singer shared that earlier in March, 2014 Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst announced her as the country’s representative at Eurovision this year.

“The announcement and my performance of Abba's Waterloo at the Opera House followed by days of preparations and rehearsals which will continue until I get to Stockholm in May,” she wrote. “I decided I should make weekly Vlogs to keep you guys in the know!”

On the opening scene of Dami’s first video, she is seen at the backstage of the Sydney Opera House, waiting for her cue. A few moments later, her name was announced and she went to the stage to join Wurst and last year’s Australian representative to Eurovision, “Australian Idol” winner Guy Sebastian.

The video also showed snippets of Dami’s official song for the contest, titled “Sound of Silence.” [Watch below for the full music video.] She also shared various moments of her preparations, including promotions and television guestings. Dami was also seen attending a movement rehearsal, wherein she practices her actions and gestures for her performance at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

Dami’s fans appreciated the fact that she is including them in her journey to the singing competition. YouTube user stephen podesta commented, “Dami thank you for including all your fans in your preparation for Eurovision, you are so popular everyone loves you and your Music Video, this is fantastic.” User kurtiscarter , on the other hand, wrote, “ Wow seeing behind the scenes makes me realise the huge amount of effort you have been putting in!! Keep up the amazing work!! You have been doing so well!! I am so proud.”

Meanwhile, others also expressed their support for Dami. YouTube user teresahxo commented, “ You're gonna kill the live performance! In the studio or on stage, your singing is phenomenal. So happy that you're representing Australia. :D And Sound of Silence sounds amazing. Love it!” Another fan who goes by the user name chocmint777 wrote, “Dami I think you have a huge chance to win Eurovision this year!! I hope you're preparing a stage performance that will blow Europe away.”

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be participated in by 41 countries, will take place in May 2016 in Stockholm's Globe Arena. This is only the second time that Australia is participating as a competitor, following Guy Sebastian’s entry in 2015, wherein he landed on fifth place.
