Courtney Love has withdrawn her band, "Hole", from the Soundwave 2012 Festival after learning that her band were billed lower than Fred Durst's "Limp Bizkit". The feisty front-woman has held a long-term disliking for Durst, blaming him and his band for "the worst years in rock history". At one show she even went to the extent of berating a member of the audience who bore a faint resemblance to the Limp Bizkit frontman. Durst's retaliation to the insults was merely to raise his middle finger when asked about the feud.

"Limp Bizkit" are returning to these shores after a ten year absence, last playing the fateful Big Day Out 2001. During that 2001 performance teenager Jessica Michalik died and the band were chastised for their part in the tragedy.

Upon hearing of Limp Bizkit's addition to the Soundwave lineup, the singer tweeted Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah. "what bloody flight of crazed fancy made you think we'd open for limp dude? no offence, thats nuts," tweeted Love.

Soundwave intend to announce a replacement band, along with other bands on Oct. 18.
