Couple News: Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Remain Tight-Lipped About Split Rumors [PHOTOS]

On- and off-screen couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev has been making public appearances separately, and the split rumours inevitably surfaced. Ian Somerhalder attended the 2013 SWSX Film Festival in Texas while Nina Dobrev appeared at the 2013 John Varvatos Stuart House Benefit.

After the couple's Oscars romantic date night, Ian Somerhalder travelled to New Orleans without Nina Dobrev to work for his charity, "The Ian Somerhalder Foundation," whose objective is to educate people on the importance of animal and environment protection.

"Headed to New Orleans to #IFSTHINKTANK w/amazing peeps. Bringing biz leaders, educators, innovators together to discuss sustainability-love it," Ian wrote using his Twitter account @iansomerhalder on March 2. Nina Dobrev's absence with the New Orleans trip ignited the rumours that the couple's relationship is on the rocks.

According to the Celeb Dirty Laundry report, Ian Somerhalder was even enjoying the company of the ISF employees Kim Klinger and Jessica Ramsey. However, the "Vampire Diaries" actor posted a message on Twitter, indicating that they were busy with work and nothing else. "So grateful to have the best team of people in my life, thank you all. Seriously," Ian shared to his Twitter fans.

On the other hand, Nina Dobrev made a cheerful appearance without her boyfriend at the 2013 John Varvatos Stuart House Benefit in Los Angeles on March 10. The actress attended the event to support the retreat house designed for children who have experienced sexual abuse.

Ian and Nina appear to be avoiding each other as well on Twitter for weeks without mentioning one another whenever they post messages. Ian Somerhalder wrote the Twitter messages "Been an amazing day - good night y'all" and "Getting ready for bed-look what's come out of my pockets" with an image of jewelry and a sign for RYOT.org attached. Nina Dobrev posted a photograph of herself with her aunt with the message that reads: "Love hanging with my auntie Hilary @hilaryshor :)"

The lovely couple has not given any comment about the split rumours. The fans and media are now wondering what is really going on between them.
