The sound of over a thousand breaking hearts can be heard after reports emerged about the love life of Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard. The "True Blood" star is reportedly dating Canadian actress Ellen Page for a year now.

Alexander and Ellen met in 2011 filming "The East" and the pair was first spotted together at a Los Angeles ice hockey game in the middle of 2012. Afterwards, no news was reported about Alexander and Ellen until the promotional tour for their film started.

Zal Batmanglij, film director of "The East," shared on social networking site Twitter a photograph of the 36-year-old heartthrob actor sweetly kissing the petite 26-year-old's head. "This reminds me of shooting. When we'd lie in the grass listening to Toby practice Rostam's piano piece. #TheEast," Batmanglij wrote on his Twitter account @z_al.

Ellen Page even re-tweeted the picture with the caption that reads: "Canadian tuxedo party." In the photo, the two wore matching denim outfits and looked really sweet with the actor's arm around Ellen, who appears to be lying on his lap.

The cozy picture spread quickly at social media sites with the speculation about their relationship picked up from there. However, contradicting reports claim that Alexander and Ellen are just good friends. "It isn't even clear how long ago the picture was taken," an anonymous source told People.

Additionally, Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page looked only friendly with each other when they were both spotted at the Los Angeles International Airport and at red carpets while promoting their film. No official statement has been released yet from both camps to confirm or deny the status of their relationship.

"The East" had its premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Currently, the film is released in the United States theaters for a limited period.
