After having an impressive start in the Premier League with four wins, Chelsea will look to bring their domestic form to the Champions League by securing all three points against Schalke 04.

The two sides have been drawn in the same group last season, with the west Londoners dominating the Bundesliga outfit during the first and reverse meetings with a 3-0 scoreline each.

"Motivation is always the same, it does not change," said Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

"What drives me is to try to win. "

"It doesn't matter what the competition is or who the opponent is, we want to win every match - obviously we know we cannot do that but our approach doesn't change."

Royal Blues manager Jens Keller, on the other hand, will be missing the services of his skipper - Benedikt Howedes - who is sidelined with an injury, and will use experience as their teacher ahead of the anticipated match-up.

"It's very difficult if you lose your captain and for the rest of the defenders he is a very important player," said Keller.

"I don't know how long he will be missing for."

"He is a very important player for us and he is very confident after winning the World Cup, plus we have lots of games ahead. Hopefully it won't be too long."

"We've learnt [from previous games against Chelsea] that mistakes get punished. We learnt that home and away last season. "

"We know they're a top team and now with the new acquisitions they've made they are even more so."
