The business-centric BlackBerry Passport phablet is one of the sought-after, recently released handsets. Notably, the uniquely designed device's demand is skyrocketing, ever since the device was released. However, the supply is kept to a minimum, intentionally, to avoid accumulating huge inventory, as said by BlackBerry CEO John Chen. Nonetheless, the Canadian firm is offering discounts on its Passport for Black Friday Sale 2014.

Reportedly, Blackberry has slashed the price of the Passport by 29 percent and this offer will be applicable till Nov. 30. The 29 percent discount translates to a price cut of $200 from the original price of $699. Potential buyers can utilise this killer deal and purchase the phablet for just $499. The point to be noted, however, is that the BlackBerry Passport is a GSM handset. Therefore, the device will not work with Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular networks, according to Phone Arena.

Recently, BlackBerry announced that the red-and-white-coloured Passports can also be availed. But as Phone Arena reports, the Black Friday deal pertains only to the black-hued Passport. It is worth noting that both red and white versions can only be availed by buyers who do not own a black-coloured Passport already. Plus, buyers should not have pre-ordered the Passport in BlackBerry's official online store, specific to the U.S. Moreover, the white-hued version is priced significantly lower than the red one at $599, while the red version will set the buyers back by $699, according to GSM Arena.

Meanwhile, the pre-order window for the red and white models started on Nov. 24. And the ordered red version will start shipping from Nov. 28 onwards. On the other hand, the Passport can also be purchased from Amazon. Just like the BlackBerry online store, the orders placed through Amazon will also ship from Nov. 28.

As far as the key configurations go, the BlackBerry Passport sports a 4.5-inch "square" display and a unique resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 pixels, alongside a physical QWERTY keyboard. And this keyboard can double as a trackpad as well. For the business users, the Passport will be supremely effective and helpful for reading and editing spreadsheets, documents and also when typing emails.

Other impressive features include 13 MP OIS camera as the rear-facing unit, 32 GB of built-in storage capacity and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the display. And this powerhouse of a device comes equipped with a humongous 3,450 mAh battery. As BlackBerry points out, this phablet can provide up to 30 hours of battery charge. Potential buyers can place an order in BlackBerry's official website.
