Hip hop power couple Jay z and Beyonce is all set for their upcoming "On The Run" tour that will start on June 25. Although there were several rumours that the relationship between the two is rocky and may be headed for a divorce, they are still pushing the concert through with no news of being postponed. The trailer for their upcoming tour was so good that fans of the "Drunk in Love" duo even petitioned the real life couple to make a full-length movie, as reported by MTV.

The faux movie trailer was directed by Grammy award winning filmmaker Melina Matsoukas and she has answered questions regarding the making of the epic music video. ELLE interviewed the 33-year-old director on how everything looked amazing that it really came out straight from a movie.

Matsoukas has already worked with Beyonce in the past and she loves working with her but it was her first time working with Jay Z and he was kind of sceptical at first.

"Beyonce was definitely really excited. Jay was a bit skeptical, but we were able too kind of force him into it. He's always interested in doing something different so I think that part was exciting to him," said the director.

The music video was indeed different and has become viral the minute it was posted.

"In my head I knew it was a trailer for this movie, and I knew it had this of 'Bonnie and Clyde,' 'True Romance' vibe," added the director. Jay Z had to showcase his acting skills in the video, especially because he has lines with Sean Penn. This made the music video all the more intriguing because it had a storyline that was fit for an action movie.

"I had suggested some line to Jay, which were not received well. I was like 'You don't have to say this but say this.' Of course I realized that Jay is a poet. So it became what it became. And it was way better than I would have imagined," replied Matsoukas on Jay Z and Bey improvising their lines. Jay was the one who took care of the script and it was a success.

Beyonce was wielding a gun and looked convincingly dangerous portraying the role. Matsoukas shared that Bey was into her role and even researched and sent in some references that would work.

"This is a role she hasn't played that she's definitely interested in playing so let's take it way further than she could imagine. Maybe these are things she didn't think she could do a couple of years ago, and now she's just like, 'I'm gonna play whatever part I wanna play and not listen to whatever people have to say."

Making it look like a trailer was the first goal but by adding "Coming Never" fans will not be tricked that they have made a movie starring the power couple. "We were talking about putting it before a movie like 'Godzilla' in the theater and really kind of tricking people. But Beyonce was like, 'I think people are going to be really mad if we trick them!' So that's when I came up with the whole 'Coming Never' which solved that problem."

Although currently there no plans on making it a full length movie, Matsoukas is keeping an open mind to the project. If by any chance Beyonce and Jay Z would like to star in their very own movie it would definitely be a big hit. Jay Z and Beyonce "On The Run" tour will be up until August 2014.
