The premiere of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in Australia has led to the introduction of new characters in the movie franchise and one of the characters that has captured the audience is Peter Maximoff or popularly known as Quicksilver. Although this character is not really a good guy because he joined the leagues of Magneto in the comic book version, his character in the "X-Men" sequel was definitely well-accepted by moviegoers, according to Hit Fix.

To get to know Quicksilver better, here are five quick facts:

  1. He is the son of Magneto and has a twin sister Scarlet Witch, according to Comic Vine. However, they were not aware of this fact and have been rescued by their father when they were captured. This made them join the pact of the Brotherhood of the Evil Mutants as they were in debt to him.
  2. The fast-speeding mutant is also the only one who stars in two movies, the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron" that will be released in May 2015, as reported by New York Daily News. However, Evan Peters was the one playing the role in the "X-Men" movie sequel while Aaron-Taylor Johnson for the "Avengers" franchise. The two movies are also from two different movie studios.
  3. The complicated appearance of Quicksilver in the Marvel universe is also the reason why he is present in both movies. Quicksilver joined the Avengers when they escaped the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants as Magneto was abducted from Earth in order to atone for their past sins, according to Comics Alliance. Hence, he and his sister will also debut in the upcoming Avengers flick.
  4. Magneto was not supposed to be Quicksilver's father but both had silver locks. However, it was noted that the latter sported the white hair first. Although he has a wide array of relatives in the Marvel universe.
  5. In Comics Alliance it was also discussed that he was never part of the core team of the X-Men but has become part of the X-Factor. It is a spinoff of the X-Men series about a team formed by the government that showcases five of the original X-Men. Gambit is also part of this team.

For those who have instantaneously fallen in love with the goofy and fun-loving Quicksilver portrayed by Evan Peters, they might look forward to the sequel. The "X-Men: Apocalypse" promises more scenes for the speedster than "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
