US President Barack Obama recently went on a one-on-one interview with AskMen's Most Influential Man Jon Stewart about the Obama administration's accomplishment. Obama said on The Daily Show that his administration has accomplished things that many American are even unaware of.

"What have you done that we don't know about? Are you planning a surprise party for us, filled with jobs and health care?," asked Jon Stewart, who beat Obama in AskMen poll this week.

US President Barack Obama said: "Over and over again, we have moved forward an agenda that is making a difference in people's lives each and every day."

"Is it enough? No. And so I expect, and I think most Democrats out there expect, that people want to see more progress."

Citing a Democratic Senate candidate's campaign ad attacking a piece of Obama legislation, Stewart asked whether he has convinced even his own party that the legislation passed over the last two years has been enough to secure their loyalty to his presidency.

Stewart poked fun at the US President as he tackles the issue of a Democratic Senate candidate attacking one of a legislation that Barack Obama supported. Stewart interjected him with "Are you going to curse?"

Obama said: "No I'm not. I know a lot of folks feel frustrated about Congress, how it operates, the bickering, the weird rules, the filibustering...But the fact is, there are a bunch of folks who, during the course of this year, took really tough votes that they knew were bad politics because they thought they were the right things to do."

The Daily Show is known for its light and funny treatment of serious issues confronting the American public. However, US President Barrack Obama, some critics say, was too serious even with Jon Stewart exerting a tremendous effort to make the atmosphere just a little bit lighter.

Natali Finn of E! Online asked: "Why so serious, Mr. President? Despite Jon Stewart's best efforts, Barack Obama played it pretty close to the vest during his appearance tonight on The Daily Show, knowing that nobody's laughing when it comes to the economy, Afghanistan and next week's midterm elections."

Now, detractors know why Jon Stewart is more influential than the US President, at least according to AskMen's poll. Unlike the US President, Jon Stewart can crack jokes.

Jacob Bronsther of AskMen wrote of Jon Stewart's influence: "Stewart's influence derives from the fact that declaring leaders or policies funny is to criticize them, to point out their irrationality or the incongruence between our expectations regarding good leadership and reality."

"Biting political commentary is mixed up with innocuous jokes."

"Indeed, the fact that Stewart makes us laugh -- and he does, if The Daily Show's ratings have a say in the matter -- is a damning statement on our current political environment."

But the it seem with the midterm election up next week in the United States, and as gauged in US President Barrack Obama's serious appearance on The Daily Show, it can be said that the US current political environment is one that those concerned, should looked at seriously.

Editor's Note: We apologize for misspelling the President's name as "Barrack" instead of "Barack."
