As soon as Google announced its latest operating system at an event on Sep. 29, HTC was one of the few smartphone manufacturers that didn’t waste any time tweeting the complete list of its devices receiving the update. Last month, HTC also unveiled its newest flagship HTC One A9 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed.

HTC promised to release the update to newly launched One A9 within 15 days of the Nexus line having received it. The Taiwanese manufacturer included major flagship devices of the One family, as well as the latest Desire family devices.

HTC could begin the Marshmallow party with the original HTC One M8 and One M9 by the end of this year. Other devices will follow by the first quarter of 2016.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates are in the development stage and will start rolling-out by the end of 2015. All the devices upgraded to the latest version of Android operating system coupled with the latest version of Sense 7.1 UI will get a bagful of new features.

Based on region or carrier, the over-the-air roll-out of the update will be staggered and take some time to reach the device, reports You Mobile.

Here is the official list of HTC devices slated to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update:

Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) – End of 2015

  • HTC One M9
  • HTC One M8

ETA – Beginning of 2016 (January to March)

Bad luck, however, for owners of the HTC One M7, which won’t be getting the latest Android version upgrade. Android Marshmallow will bring in several new features like enhanced app permissions, auto backup, Doze mode, Now on Tap, fingerprint sensor, support for USB Type-C and Android Pay.
