"Orphans" is the title of "American Horror Story" Season 4 mid-season finale. The episode will see Elsa Mars telling the story of the "Freak Show." The synopsis of the episode indicates that one more freak is going to die and Desiree will start suspecting that Maggie has something to do with the deaths of the freaks. The episode will also see Lily Rabe returning to reprise her Season 2 "American Horror Story-Asylum" role as Sister Mary Eunice. Sister Eunice is the second character from Season 2 to appear in Season 4 of "American Horror Story." Naomi Grossman's Pepper is also part of Season 4. She is one of the freaks in Elsa's run Freak Show.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the FX's horror anthology series, has said in one of his interviews that all the seasons of "American Horror Story" are connected and Season 4 is going to reveal some of that connection. Rabe's character will be making an appearance to reveal how Pepper ended up at the mental institution, Briarcliff Manor, from the freak show. "Asylum" was set in 1962, while "Freak Show" is set in 1952. According to the synopsis of episode 10, "the death of a freak sparks troubling behaviour in Pepper."

Meanwhile, it looks like the Season 4 of "American Horror Story" is becoming Dandy's Horror Show. He more than doubled his body count in the last episode. In addition to that, he bribed a police officer and made him work for him. Regina was the first victim of this bribe and Jimmy became the second. The police officer shot Regina and at the end of the episode, he arrested Jimmy for the gruesome "Tupperware Party Massacre." It was Dandy who killed the ladies and framed Jimmy. After Jimmy told Dandy that he knows that he was the other clown, Dandy, the new born 'God,' promised to destroy him.

The preview of the mid-season finale indicates that the imminent danger to Jimmy's life is from Stanley, not Dandy. The preview clip shows Stanley visiting Jimmy in the prison and asking, "Did you do it." If the con-man manages to get Jimmy freed, the lobster boy would most likely end up in a jar and become an exhibit at Museum of Morbid Curiosities.

As "Orphans" is the mid-season finale of "American Horror Story" Season 4, the viewers can expect some heart-stopping moments. And, the "Orphans" probably refers to the freaks minus Elsa in their lives.
