Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women in the world. Early diagnosis and prevention methods can protect many from the risks of breast cancer while unluckily for some, they have to undergo mastectomy to remove infected breasts. For someone who has a sincere desire to lend a hand, here are some life-changing ways to help breast cancer patients.

  1. Listen. Being a good listener is just one of the simplest ways you can help others. There are breast cancer patients who like to talk about their situation as a means of relieving themselves of emotional stress.
  1. Visit. When was the last time you paid a visit to a friend who has breast cancer? Your presence alone can lift the mood of those suffering from this illness especially if they’re someone you’re very close to.
  1. Volunteer. There are hospitals who welcome volunteers with open arms. They have breast cancer patients who may need assistance or need someone to look after them.
  1. Help. If you know a friend who has breast cancer try visiting her at her place one weekend. You can lend her a hand with household chores or by helping her watch over her children.
  1. Know. One way to help patients is by knowing more about the disease itself. Learning about breast cancer can help you understand better those who are suffering from it.
  1. Share. Breast cancer patients have many stories to tell especially with regard to how they deal with their illness and the experiences they’ve been through in their battle against cancer. You can share their stories to other people to make them more aware of this killer and how they can avoid it.
  1. Donate. Join fundraising activities for patients of breast cancer. Treatments are very expensive and most of them can’t even afford a mammogram. On the other hand, you can also donate financially.

These simple and easy to do life-changing ways to help breast cancer patients are a great way to reach out and empathize to others. You can already change the life of many by doing them.
