Not only will Apocalypse unleash terror and destruction in Bryan Singer’s latest “X-Men” sequel
“X-Men: Apocalypse,” he will also provide Michael Fassbender’s Magneto a new surge of power befitting him as one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen.

A new concept art released for the film shows the magnitude of Magneto’s powers in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The photo shared by the official Twitter page of Entertainment Weekly shows Fassbender’s Magneto destroying everything in his path, while Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Storm (Alexandra Shipp) watch from behind.

Singer told Entertainment Weekly that Magneto has Apocalypse to thank for his increased powers. The “X-Men: Apocalypse” director told the publication that in the “X-Men” sequel, En Sabah Nur has the ability to share his powers with his mutant allies.

“One of Apocalypse’s many powers is he can imbue other mutants with greater ones. Magneto is demonstrating a small taste of what he can do now. Magneto is already enormously powerful…. Now Apocalypse gives him powers far beyond what we’ve seen before,” he said.

In the movie, Fassbender’s Magneto will be recruited by Apocalypse to be one of his Four Horsemen, along with Storm, Psylocke and Angel (Ben Hardy). A scene in the “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer also shows the moment En Sabah Nur revealed himself to Erik Lensherr a.k.a. Magneto during his search for mutants that will side with him in destroying the world. [Scroll down to see the scene at the 1:18 time stamp from the “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer.]

Evan Peters, who plays Quicksilver, previously shared how his character also plays an important role in convincing Magneto to stray from Apocalypse and his men. In the “X-Men” comic books, Quicksilver is known as Magneto’s son. Somehow, the father-and-son relationship will be explored in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

Peters said that “X-Men: Apocalypse” will also show how Quicksilver has been searching for his father. However, he ends up fighting Professor Xavier against the Four Horsemen and Apocalypse. Peters said Quicksilver ends up trying to stop Fassbender’s Magneto from destroying the world.
