A trailer for the much-anticipated sequel “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be released on Friday. The official poster for the Bryan Singer-directed film has also been revealed.

The official Twitter account for X-Men Movies announced details on the “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer release. The preview will reportedly come on Friday and will be available to viewers on the official YouTube page of Fox Movies. Along with the announcement is the reveal of the poster for the film with the tagline “Only the strong will survive.”

No other details were revealed from the poster. According to Cinema Blend, the only giveaway comes from the tagline. Understandably, the X-Men will be faced with a powerful enemy in the film: Apocalypse. The mutant is bound to create chaos and leave multiple deaths at the wake of his attack on Professor Xavier’s (James McAvoy) allies.

It’s uncertain if the trailer that will be released on Friday is the same one featured at the San Diego Comic-Con in July which was eventually leaked online. However, it was initially reported that the “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer release will happen with the theatre debut of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” producer and co-writer Simon Kinberg had confirmed that it will come out on Dec. 18 when the J.J. Abrams film opens in US theatres. He had said in a previous interview that it will be the first of the many trailers of the film that will be released. He added that although it’s just going to be basically a teaser, it will still be over a minute long.

A previous report from Comic Book claimed the trailer will open with Jean Grey waking up from a nightmare, which she believes is already a premonition. She tells Professor Charles Xavier that she saw death and the Apocalypse, or “the end of the world.”

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer will reportedly be filled with action-sequences involving Quicksilver (Evan Peters) running through the halls leading to Cerebro and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) saying she's ready to fight. Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn) will be Apocalypse's allies. The trailer will show them with Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) as he recruits Magneto (Michael Fassbender). According to Comic Book, the trailer ends with Professor X getting bald after his eyes turn black while inside the Cerebro.
