US stocks rose in the opening minutes of trading on Wall Street on Friday, responding to a favorable jobs report that saw 850,000 new jobs added in June.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average strengthened 33.73 to 34,667.26 at 9:30 a.m. ET.

The Standard & Poor's 500 Index increased 22.44 to 4,319.94.

The NASDAQ Composite Index moved higher 61.29 to 14,583.67.

The S&P 500 and NASDAQ were experiencing intraday highs.
