A shocking mobile phone footage of a mother dangling her child over a balcony was uploaded in YouTube on April 9. The incident took place in China, although the exact location is not clear. (Watch the video below)

According to the Mirror.co.uk, in the distressing clip, the woman is seen hitting the sobbing boy over the head as another child watches. Eventually, she lifts him off the floor and places him over the ledge of the balcony, only holding on to him by his legs.

From the looks of it, the woman was attempting to discipline the child. Apart from the video there has been no report on what actually happened.

The video was uploaded on the YouTube channel Top Viral Videos. The video has already got more than 40,000 hits on Youtube. The clip appears to have been filmed by residents in another apartment. They watch in disgust as the mother threatens her child. After a few heart-stopping seconds, the woman pulls the child back to safety and picks up the second child for a cuddle.

Earlier this week, a video of a woman hitting a child across the face with an iPad, outside a supermarket in Victorville, California, went viral. The woman, has been identified by police as 39-year-old Yvonne Camargo. (Watch the video below.)

The video was recorded by a shopper, who had seen the woman leave the supermarket. He told CBS Los Angeles that he started filming when he noticed the woman pulling the kid by the hair. The video has since than been watched by more than 200,000 people.

According to the Mirror.co.uk, the incident was reported by a Victorville resident after watching the video on a social media site. The police said in an statement that Children and Family Services had been notified. The report also said the child had been examined for injuries.
