A California college professor drew flak after her student complained that she showed pornographic material in her class, but the dean justified the educator's choice of material in class.

Fresno State University professor Peggy Gish used a 20 minute adult film in her class as visual aid. The segment was part of Advanced Sexual Techniques, Volume One, which has sexually explicit audio and graphic video, CampusReform.org reported late last week.

Fresno College dean Andrew Hoff has since spoken to The Huffington Post saying that the video segment shown during a sex education class was for the sake of "physiological, psychological, social, cultural and developmental considerations for life-long understanding related to sexuality."

The adult film from which the video segment was taken features 12 couples of various ethnicities, exploring various sexual positions and techniques for sexual satisfaction.

"It is not a required course. Students who take the course are advised, in advance, that they may find some content objectionable and that they may opt out at their discretion," he said.

Should this be Tolerated in Colleges?
