"Supernatural" Season 9 premieres on Oct 8 and Penikett nee Ezekiel will be making his supernatural debut in the first episode itself. Executive Produce Jeremy Carver describes Ezekiel as a dignified warrior angel badly injured in the "Fall" - referring to Season 8's finale scene of all angels, falling from heaven. All angels falling from heaven - but Craver did say that this was not going to be one unified body. With so many angels around, it's going to be a free for all - many angels, many agendas and many directions.

In religious terms, Ezekiel is acknowledged in Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Baha'I Faith as the Herbrew Prophet - he is the central protagonist of the Book of Ezekiel in the Herbew Bible. Details about Supernatural's Ezekiel are being kept under wraps though and it's also unclear if he will be part of Supernatural's Chicago-set monsters vs. hunters back-door pilot slated to air later this season.

Penikett's other roles include AMC's "The Killing", "Castle", "Bomb Girls" and Syfy's "Continuum".

Penikett's "Supernatural" gig reunites him with his "Battlestar" and "Dollhouse" co-star Mark Sheppard, who plays the all-time-favorite baddie Crowley. There has to be angel power to the show, now that Castiel will be a mortal. So what does Dean think? Jensen stated that the new relationship between Dean and Castiel would be all the more interesting - now that there were on the same mortal plane.
