“Star Wars: Episode 9” will have a connection to Jabba the Hutt, a character from the original trilogy. A leaked scene description based on a concept art suggests the heroes will meet a Hutt. The following article contains spoilers.

According to a report by Mike Zeroh [see below] the storyboard details that have leaked online reveal that Finn (John Boyega), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) will be seen in handcuffs in one of the scenes. They will be in front of a Hutt, who is believed to be the son of Jabba.

Fans of the franchise will remember Jabba’s son Rotta from the “Clone Wars” series. There have been a few other reports that suggest that this character will be a part of the upcoming film.

After the death of Jabba, his son may have grown to become a powerful figure among the Hutts. It isn’t clear if the planet Tatooine, where the Hutt Cartel was strong, will be featured in the next film. No matter where the criminal organisation is now based, Rotta may be playing a huge role in it.

According to the leaked scene description, Finn and Poe will be seen running in a small alley, being chased by the First Order Stormtroopers. They will eventually meet Rose and a new character. This scene will reportedly be filmed at Cardington Sheds.

The report notes that the new trilogy has a similar pattern to the original trilogy. Just as there was the larger version of the Death Star, and Darth Vader’s ship in the two previous movies, the upcoming movie may have a scene that will be reminiscent of the rescue mission at Jabba’s palace.

“Star Wars: Episode 9” may return to the planet Jakku, as some of the filming will take place in Jordan. Mike notes that the planet Tatooine appears in the first and third movies in the original trilogy, so a similar pattern can be expected in the new trilogy.
