A new theory about “Star Wars: Episode 8” looks at what happened to Kylo Ren’s crossguard lightsaber after the events in “The Force Awakens,” and describes a possible scene involving the character and his weapon. The theory also explores the likely events surrounding the character and his mission.

[Spoiler alert]

After his fight with Rey (Daisy Ridley) in “The Force Awakens” Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) crossguard lightsaber appeared to have been heavily damaged. In a new video on YouTube, Mike Zeroh examines an old rumour about the movie that suggested that there is a scene in the film that will show the character repairing his weapon.

Building on that, Mike says that he would love to see Kylo Ren place his damaged lightsaber on a table in front of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). The leader of the First Order will be disappointed because the weapon is ancient and very rare.

The scene in “Star Wars: Episode 8” will show Kylo Ren wielding the lightsaber, with sparks flying in the air, according to the theory. Mike expects this scene to look “stunning.” But, apart from the visual appeal, the scene will may be of some significance in terms of the plot.

Mike explains that Kylo Ren has a lot of explaining to do after his defeat at the hands of Rey. But, Snoke may not be interested in explanations and may instead focus on the girl.

Rey became aware of her Force powers in the J.J. Abrams movie, and even Kylo Ren conceded that she is more powerful than she realises. This should get Snoke interested in her.

Mike believes that Snoke will send Kylo Ren on a mission to kidnap Rey and bring her before him in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The character’s journey to becoming a Jedi will be interesting if it has these little twists and turns. It should be noted that Luke (Mark Hamill) had his first encounter with Darth Vader before he completed his training.
