Fans will be spending considerable amount of time on Ahch-To in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” A new report reveals how the new planet will be significant in the storyline, and what the final scene of the movie will be. There are also details about how Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber is connected to the Clan Leader.

The following article contains spoilers of “The Last Jedi.” Readers who do not wish to know details about the plot and specific scenes should stop reading.

According to a report by Mike Zeroh [see video below], Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will not be leaving Ahch-To until the very end of the film. Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) main mission on the planet is to persuade the old Jedi Master to end his self-imposed exile and join the fight against the First Order. She is also expected to take her first steps in becoming a Jedi.

So, the two characters will spend the whole time in the movie on Ahch-To. The cliffhanger this time will be Luke and Rey leaving the planet together on the Millennium Falcon. While they won’t leave the planet during “Star Wars: Episode 8,” they will leave the island on which the Jedi master stays. So, fans will get to explore new locations there.

If Rey spends all her time in the movie at Ahch-To with Luke, there is little chance of her meeting with Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). So, there is no scope for the romance that many fans expect. However, there may be more bromance between the Rebel pilot and the former Stormtrooper.

In another video [see below] Mike says that a deleted scene or an idea for “The Force Awakens” that was dropped will be featured in the sequel. The scene, according to Mike, could be a flashback in which Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o) stole Luke’s lightsaber.

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) was keen on getting his hands on Luke’s lightsaber so the flashback could be about the Knights of Ren going in search of the weapon and killing the Clan members for it. Maz Kanata could be seen taking the Jedi weapon, after the Clan leader or someone drops it during the fight.

“Star Wars: Episode 8” is slated to be released on Dec. 15 in Australia. According to a report by Seeking Alpha, Disney CEO Bob Iger has already seen the film. It is not clear if he saw a rough cut or the final version of the movie.
