Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is getting some backlash for its camera specs. According to CNET, the smartphone actually looks pretty decent with a slick and minimalistic overall design - which makes the unit look a bit like the company's top end gadget, the Xperia Z3, but critics claim that the unit is a bad choice for aspiring photographers.

With its ’Aqua' name, it can only be expected that the unit come with some waterproof features. That said, reviews ave described the Xperia M4 Aqua as the watered down variant of the Xperia Z3.

According to the report, Sony may have purposely decided to make huge compromises with the unit's specs in order to come up with something fitting for its affordable price

That said, as compared to the Xperia Z3's full HD display screen, the Xperia M4 Aqua only has 720p. With regards to its camera, its 13-megapixel capability - which is a clear downgrade from the Xperia Z3's 20-megapixel capability - is far from impressive.

On the bright side, though, tech users who prioritize durability and style can still take the Xperia M4 Aqua into consideration. That is if they are merely looking for a device that can only look pretty. After all, it does feature a front-and-back glass casing. However, on a more up close point of view, the device looks less luxurious when it becomes apparent that the material is plastic and not metal - unlike the premium-looking smartphones in the market today.

According to Amazon, the device can now be purchased in the U.S., with its 8 GB variant at $349. It was actually first introduced to the market earlier this year at the 2015 Mobile World Congress, or MWC. Since its launch, though, reports have stated that it only has 8 units left in stock in Amazon.

Unfortunately, GSM Arena reported that the device's 8 GB variant actually only has 1.2GB of usable memory space upon start-up.
