Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has revealed that he is already preparing for a potential future showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Following Pacquiao's victory over Chris Algieri, Roach has said that he is still optimistic that a bout against Mayweather is going to happen in 2015 and he is getting ready for it by watching fight videos of the American boxer.

According to an article by Los Angeles Times, Roach has already started watching tape on Mayweather. He added that he setup a meeting between Bob Arum and Leslie Moonves, who is the chairman of CBS Corporation, in Arum's home in Beverly Hills over the summer in the hopes of finally making the super fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather come fruition. Roach revealed that Moonves got livid with Arum because the Top Rank veteran promoter promised that the eight division Filipino world champion would fight three times on Showtime but only fought once.

Roach said that the Mayweather fight wouldn't be an easy one, but he likes challenges. "It's not an easy fight by any means, but I love Manny in that fight, and look forward to getting Manny ready for that fight."

Roach added that Mayweather will be the "best opponent" that they will ever face. He said that they will be haunted forever if the Mayweather fight doesn't happen.

Mayweather has been unfalteringly unwilling to fight Pacquiao. One of his latest demands is to make Pacquiao switch TV networks in addition to promotional control. However, Pacquiao has also been steadfastly pushing for the Mayweather bout.

After Pacquiao dismantled Chris Algieri with a unanimous decision win that included six knockdowns at the Cotai Arena in The Venetian Macao on November 23, he has been putting pressure on Mayweather. Pacquiao said that the boxing fans deserve to witness the Mayweather fight and added that it is time to make it happen, Rappler reports.

Pacquiao had strong words toward Mayweather and said it is time for the American boxer to step up and say yes. Pacquiao said he had kept his silence on the topic of the super fight in the last years because the other camp had not been eager to talk about the bout.

Arum also stated his side on the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. The 82-year-old promoter said that everyone should stop the bickering and nonsense talks and just work together to make the fight happen.
