“Red Dead Redemption 2” was officially announced in October, but game developer Rockstar Games has not released much information about the title since then. One of the biggest questions that fans have been asking is whether or not it will be compatible with the PC -- and it does not look like the answer will come any time soon.

As RDR2 has noted, Rockstar has learned a lot from the success of “Grand Theft Auto V.” This includes the scheduled releases for the different gaming platforms. Some players bought the same game several times in order to play it on different consoles. The game was initially released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. It was afterwards released on current generation consoles, which was then followed by PC-compatible variant.

The stagnant releases worked well for Rockstar Games, so it is possible that the same strategy will be used for “Red Dead Redemption 2.” The positive side of this is that “Grand Theft Auto Online” really put the game in the market, and it is unlikely that the game developer will miss out on the same opportunity for the upcoming Western-themed title.

But as the publication continued to point out, the actual announcement may not be made soon. It argued that fans would not buy the Xbox or PS versions of the game if they were to know that a PC-compatible offering would eventually be released. As such, it is even possible that Rockstar Games will not make an announcement even when the game hits Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

And if there was a question as to whether or not the game will be supported on PC, an online petition is already trying to prove that there is a profitable market available. The petition already has more than 50 thousand signatures, and the number is only increasing as the days lead on.

The official release date for “Red Dead Redemption 2” has still not been announced. However, it has confirmed that the same will hit the market sometime within the last quarter of the year. Further announcements, which may cover anything from gameplay and story, to characters and maps, are expected to be announced soon.
