The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have donated a Land Rover they received as a wedding gift to a rescue organization to improve the team's performance.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are giving the expensive vehicle to Mountain Rescue of England and Wales, which then arranged a raffle to pick the lucky team that will get it.

After Prince Harry delegated the raffle, the Land Rover went to the Lake District's Patterdale team, which then gave it to the Glossop Mountain Rescue team in Wales.

"The vehicle will be greatly appreciated," Keith Montgomery, an honorary member of the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team, told Us magazine. He said the donation spared the team from organizing a fundraiser.

"Our present vehicle only has a shelf life of about six months and we were embarking on a major fundraising exercise to raise more than 45,000 pounds to replace it," adds Montgomery.
