Prince Harry's schedule before kicking off the holiday season with the Royal family included a guest appearance at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2014 awards. The 30-year-old prince felt like a proud dad as he honoured the Invictus Games competitors during the ceremony.

According to an Express report, Prince Harry presented the Helen Rollason Award to over 30 injured army service men and women that inspired courage and determination in the Invictus Games that the Royal family member organized. "I'm like a proud dad. You look around and everyone is on their feet. It's for you, every single one of you," Prince Harry stated as the Invictus Games competitors received a standing ovation from the audience at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow.

Prince Harry gave a moving tribute to the Invictus Games competitor before handing the Helen Rollason Award to Dave Henson MBE, captain of the Invictus Games Great Britain team.

"A sporting competition for those injured while serving in the armed forces. Each of those taking part had injured a long and often painful journey of recovery," Prince Harry stated during his tribute. He further added that people should not underestimate the power of a sport to change lives.

Then, Prince Harry expressed gratitude to the family, friends and carers of the Invictus Games competitors as well as the general public for the support that they gave during their recovery. "Perfectly encapsulating the essence of this award for outstanding achievement in the face of adversity. They are Invictus," Prince Harry declared.

The next event on Prince Harry's schedule is the Royal family's annual pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. An E!News report revealed that the prince arrived at the palace looking dapper in his navy blue suit with a matching tie while sitting next to a member of his security team.

Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George also arrived at the palace to attend the celebration. The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in her red dress and chandelier earrings while her husband wore a suit and a pair of black glasses and their one-year-old son was seated at the back of the car next to his nanny, Maria Teresa Borrallo.
