The CW network released an ad to promote their spin-off series "The Originals." However, the video clip has attacked rival TV series "Pretty Little Liars" igniting a network feud as the ABC Family responded to the advertisement via Twitter with some fans reacting to the mockery.

"The Originals" promo video, exclusively featured in the Entertainment Weekly report, encourages the viewers to switch channels and watch the "Vampire Diaries" spin-off series instead after emphasizing a couple of words starting with the letter "A." The voice over in the ad stated: "Is A making you angry? Agitated? Maybe the answer is on another channel. Head over to the CW right now and see what everyone is tweeting about. It's time to ditch the old A for something that's absolutely bad-ass."

CW's tricky ad was played during Tuesday night's airing of "Pretty Little Liars" in a bid to steal viewers and mock the ABC Family's hit TV series as well. According to the MTV News report, "Pretty Little Liars" became television's most tweeted season premiere boasting with 3.2 million viewers.

PLL fans are aware that the red letter "A" is the signature of the villain in the mystery-thriller drama. CW's ad did not directly mention the rival TV series but the message obviously targets the "Pretty Little Liars" fans.

The team behind "Pretty Little Liars" together with the devoted fans responded to the mocking ad via Twitter. The TV show's official Twitter account @ABCFpll shared an image with the words "Bite Me -A" and the hash tags #Unoriginal and #LiarsUnite to attack the CW's vampire, werewolves and witches. The PLL fans also express on Twitter their allegiance to the TV series as they tweet #LiarsUnite. For instance, one viewer with Twitter account @_KaryG found the CW's ad for "The Originals" foul. The tweet reads: "The Originals trying to convince PLL fans to change the channel during the show tonight, how #UNoriginal #LiarsUnite."

Even the stars from both TV series gave their reaction to the on-going ad feud. "The Originals" actress Phoebe Tonkin wrote on her Twitter account @1PhoebeJTonkin that there will be basically "A LOT of really great hair across the board at 8pm tonight." PLL star Lucy Hale found Ms Tonkin's tweet funny and responded with a laugh.
