Reports say that the rumoured OPPO R8207, otherwise known as the OPPO R1C 4G smartphone, will most likely to get unveiled. Apparently, Oppo will stage the launch of its new device earlier than Xiaomi's planned launching of the Xiaomi Redmi.

Some claim that the R1C might be launched some time this week. Based on Techno Buffalo's report, the rumoured Oppo R1C might sport a 5-inch 720p display and powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM plus 16GB of internal storage. It also has an expandable memory up to 128GB with its microSD support.

With its given specs, it appears that the device will not be much, compared to the other smartphones in the market. But the biggest feature of the Oppo R1C appears to be that its back will sport a sapphire glass panel. The said feature makes the R1C look nicer than the Oppo R5's glass panel. However, there are no clear details on whether the sapphire will be used on the phone's display or will be used to give protection to its glass-back or possibly cover the entire body with sapphire glass. Additionally, the 4G LTE-enabled smartphone comes with a 5mp front-facing camera and a 13mp rear-facing camera.

Looking back, Oppo has been successful in 2014 with its big hit, the Oppo N3. The device has been notable for sporting a motorized rotating camera, not to forget that it is also a powerful 4G smart phone. Based on PCMag's review, the 5.5-inch Oppo N3 is equipped with an impressive quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and 2GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot, which can support from up to 128GB. It sports a 1080p display and uses ColorOS 2.0, a highly customized Android 4.4 version.

Reports say that the R1C is a mid-range device but based on the really high price of the R5 and the N3, it will be hard to speculate the cost of the rumoured device. Finally, there is also no confirmation as of yet for a U.S. launch.
