A trailer of the upcoming film “Operation Finale” has been released online. The plot of the film is based on the true story of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad locating and arresting a high profile Nazi officer who was the architect of the Final Solution in Germany.

The Final Solution, also known as the Final Solution to the Jewish Question, was a Nazi plan to murder all the Jewish population within their sphere of influence. The plan saw the mass migration of millions of Jews in Europe and beyond to concentration camps, where there suffered inhuman conditions before being put to death in gas chambers. This is the worst form of genocide and is known as the Holocaust.

The main architect of the Final Solution was Adolf Eichmann (Ben Kingsley). He fled to Argentina, like many other Nazis, after the Axis forces lost World War II. The plot of the upcoming movie shows how the Mossad tracks him down, and then faces the challenge of smuggling him out of the country in order to face trial for his crimes back in Israel.

Oscar Isaac plays the role of the Mossad agent Peter Malkin, who heads the team that is tasked with bringing Eichmann in. The responsibility is heavy. “For the first time in our history we will judge our executioner,” a character says in the trailer.

The trailer shows the conflict within the Mossad agent, who on several occasions is tempted to take matters into his own hands and kill Eichmann. A good portion of the film appears to be conversations between Eichman and Peter, offering some intense drama to the audience.

“Operation Finale” has been directed by Chris Weitz, who is known for directing films like “Down to Earth,” “About a Boy,” “The Golden Compass,” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
