The first trailer of “Hunter Killer” has been released online. The plot focuses on an American submarine captain teaming up with Navy Seals in order to rescue the Russian president and stop World War III from happening.

“Olympus Has Fallen” star Gerard Butler plays the role of submarine captain Joe Glass in the film. The trailer [see below] shows a lot of the action takes place under water. Apart from the naval battles, there will also be action sequences on land that will focus on the Navy Seals rescuing the Russian President.

There is a coup in Russia. A deranged minister wants to take over the country. There is a heavy build up on the Russian side, the likes of which haven’t been seen in the country’s history. The Americans will have to take action before things get out of hand, and a mad man starts World War 3.

One option that the generals in Washington have is to rescue the Russian president. Gary Oldman plays the high ranking officer in Pentagon who takes this call after Common’s character, who is also an officer, suggests it.

“Black Sails” star Toby Stephens appears to be the one leading the four-member Navy Seals team. Some of the exciting scenes related to this team include the scene in which they jump off from a plane into storm clouds.

Caroline Goodall plays the role of the US president in the film, and on the Russian side Alexander Diachenko plays the president. The trailer is promising the film to be an action-packed entertainer that will keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

“Hunter Killer” has been directed by Donovan Mars. The film is set to be released on Oct. 26 in the US. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date for Australia.
