Russell Wilson, the star quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League, or NFL wants to pursue his other dream of playing baseball and crossover to Major League Baseball, or MLB.

“You never want to kill the dream of playing two sports. I would honestly play two sports,” Wilson said in HBO's "Real Sports" show and as reported by the Seattle Times. ““I don’t know. I may push the envelope a little bit one of these days.”

Wilson played for two years of minor league baseball for the minors’ squad of the Colorado Rockies in the MLB. Wilson also played baseball and American football in college as part of the North Carolina State teams in the amateurs.

Wilson was selected in the 41st round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles after graduating from high school but opted to attend college at that time. In 2010, he was drafted by the Rockies as the 140th overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft and played for 32 games as a second baseman for their minors affiliate, the Tri-City Dust Devils in 2010 and 61 games for the Asheville Tourists in 2011.

By 2012, he stopped playing baseball to pursue a career in the NFL. The move to American football paid off for Wilson, who became a starter for the Seattle Seahawks in 2012. He has played all games since joining the team and helping them to the Super Bowl XLVIII title in 2014 and to two NFC championships in 2013 and 2014.

Wilson is a two-time NFL Pro Bowler, in 2013 and 2014, with 9,950 passing yards and 1,877 rushing yards with 72 passing touchdowns, 26 interceptions and 11 rushing TDs in his three-year NFL career.

Wilson is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Seahawks in the current offseason of the NFL.
