In the recent past, Motorola rolled out two high-end smartphones namely the Droid Turbo and the Google Nexus 6. Fresh information coming from Droid Forums reveals that the company is currently working on a new phablet device that will support better features than the Nexus 6 and it will be rolled out as a Droid family device.

According to Droid Forums, the unrevealed Motorola Droid phablet will come with a huge 6-inch display screen supporting quad HD resolution like the Motorola Nexus 6.The handset will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset featuring a 64-bit processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It will be running on Android Lollipop OS. The phablet will also an enormous 4,000 mAh battery. The Sony Xperia Z4 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 are speculated to come with 4 GB of RAM and now even the unannounced Motorola smartphone is also to feature the same amount of RAM.

Since the forthcoming Motorola Droid phablet will belong to the Droid family, it will be available through Verizon. However, as of now it is not clear whether other carrier would also be supporting the handset. As far as the physical construction of the handset is concerned, it will be a lot more like the Nexus 6.

9to5Google states that the phablet which is expected to come to Verizon may not carry the 'Droid' moniker. Motorola has been using 'Droid' exclusively on all of its Verizon handsets. The source continues to say that the manufacturer aims to concentrate on its major product lineup which includes the Moto X, the Moto G and the Nexus 6, instead of adding another phone to its Verizon lineup.

The unbranded phablet is expected to get unveiled in 2015, states BGR. However, there is no official confirmation on the device from the manufacturer. Motorola is currently selling new handsets like Motorola Moto X 2014, Motorola Moto G 2014 and Motorola Droid Turbo. Apart from these, the Google Nexus 6 is also a Motorola product.
