This week on the ABC comedy series “Modern Family,” the extended Pritchett-Tucker-Dunphy clan embark on brand new adventures and revisit old ones. Phil Dunphy’s (Ty Burrell) ducklings are back in the spotlight, along with Gloria’s (Sofia Vergara) special heirloom hot sauce recipe. Meanwhile, Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) immerses herself in her Vietnamese heritage.

According to the synopsis shared by Disney ABC Press, Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and her kids have gotten tired of sharing their house with Phil’s brood of ducklings. Earlier this season, Phil found some duck eggs in one of the properties that he has listed. He decided to bring them home to help them incubate and hatch. True enough, his mission was successful but the ducklings have since been running around the Dunphy house. Finally fed up, Claire enlists the help of Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Luke (Nolan Gould) and they help the ducklings leave the nest. They take the opportunity to do this while Phil is off visiting Alex (Ariel Winter) in college.

Meanwhile, Gloria is on a mission to pursue her hot sauce business. Also earlier this season, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) convinced her to re-create her family’s special hot sauce recipe and sell it to the local farmer’s market. It appears that she has moved forward with the plan but she encounters a snag due to a shortage of the main ingredient, hot chili peppers. In this episode, the synopsis says “Gloria and Cam are off on a hot pepper heist carefully orchestrated by Manny in order to meet a big hot sauce delivery deadline.”

While Gloria and Cam are busy sorting out the hot sauce problem, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Jay (Ed O’Neill) take over daddy duties. They help out Lily as she hosts a sleepover with a group of friends from her Vietnamese dance troupe.

“Modern Family” Season 7 airs every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
