The last international pageant of the year, the 53rd Miss International Beauty Pageant is schedule to kick off tonight, Dec. 17, in Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall, Tokyo, Japan. Miss International 2013 reigning queen Ikumi Yoshimatsu will crown her successor and will continue her work as Miss International Organization ambassador.

This is the second consecutive year that Japan will host the pageant and for this year's contest there are 77 candidates from all parts of the world that are vying for the prestigious crown. Considered as one of the biggest beauty event of the year, Miss International will showcase every woman's beauty and build their self-esteem and confidence as they proudly represent their country.

Miss Netherlands Natalie Den Dekker

This Dutch beauty represented her country in the Miss Universe 2012 pageant as well as other international beauty contest, so when it comes to experience she's got enough to bring her to the finals. Confident and hardworking, Natalie's interests includes hanging out with friends and family.

Miss Venezuela Elian Herrera

Venezuela is a top contender for this year's pageants, they owned Miss Universe 2013 and Miss Earth 2013 and now Elian Herrera is leading the Miss International 2013 pageant. The tallest girl among the 77 candidates, Herrera stands 184 centimeters with a statuesque figure that can win the title. She is not just a model but an athlete as well, she represented her country during the Juegos Suramericanos Juveniles as part of the Venezuela National Female Volleyball team.

Miss Poland Katarzyna Oracka

Miss Poland rose to the rankings of top contenders and had her eyes on the crown the moment she set foot in Japan. The 25-year-old beauty queen comes from Otwock, a place near Warsaw, and at present she studies Law at the university and is currently working on her thesis. Her passion includes music, film, literature and sports. A very curious person, Miss Poland wants to travel and meet people whenever she can.

Miss Philippines Bea Santiago

Another Filipina beauty set to makes waves in the international arena, Bea Santiago is another source pride for Filipinos who are trying to rebuild their lives after the devastation caused by typhoon Haiyan. After winning the Miss World 2013 and a fourth spot in Miss Universe 2013, the Filipinos have high hopes for Bea. Now she is ready to wow the crowd and the judges with her beauty and wit, and hopes to take home the crown.

Miss Iceland Sigrun Eva Armansdottir

Sigrun Eva Armansdottir represented her country in Miss World 2011 and she is one tough lady to beat for this year's pageant. Armed with experience, beauty and brains, she could take the crown if the odds will work on her favour.
