People from around the world were surprised by a fireball that hit the sky at around 10:45 p.m. in Victoria and also in other places such as Frankston, Cairnlea, Dandenong, Anglesea and Tullamarine.

Saturday night when a fiery meteor was witnessed passing from northern Scotland to southern England, which triggered several residents to call the police.

The spokeswoman of Durham police got numerous calls at 9:45 p.m. from residents reporting that they've seen a very bright light in the sky that looked like an aircraft.

The air traffic control immediately made a check and confirmed that there were no incidents of plane crash or aircraft difficulties captured on radar.

Grampian police experienced the same as they receive several reports from people who witnessed the fireball.

At around 9:41 p.m. the Keilder Observatory in Northumberland sighted a big fireball heading to the south. The extraordinary event has prompted people to post updates on their Twitter pages to talk about the meteor.

Twitter users from north of England and throughout Scotland twitted a huge, bright fireball that moved across the sky with a large, bright tail.

While many were amazed by the fireball, a lot have thought of it as a plane crash. The control tower in the Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne has received a huge volume of calls from locals thinking it was an aircraft accident.

David Reneke, an Astronomer, have predicted a meteor shower that will happen soon. The fireball, which was strangely witnessed worldwide, was just one of the signs.

According to him, fireballs should have been witnessed toward the end of February and not in March. He said what just happened was totally extraordinary and crazy.
