Marvel has updated the release dates of some films that are set to roll out in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The company announced that a follow-up to "Ant-Man" is in the works and also dropped its release date, which has forced a change in "Black Panther" and "Captain Marvel" release dates.

The follow-up to "Ant-Man" is called “Ant-Man and the Wasp." The film is slated to release on July 06, 2018 -- the date on which "Captain Marvel" was originally scheduled to release. "Captain Marvel" will now release on March 08, 2019. "Black Panther," which was originally slated to release on Nov. 03, 2017, will now release on Feb. 16, 2018.

Here is a summary of the scheduled dates of the films that are set to roll out under MCU Phase 3:

In 2016: “Captain America: Civil War” opens in May 06 followed by “Doctor Strange" in Nov. 04.

In 2017: “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will be released in May 5, 2017 followed by the “Spider-Man” reboot on July 27 and “Thor: Ragnarok” on Nov. 3.

In 2018: “Black Panther” premieres on Feb. 16 followed by “The Avengers: Infinity War -- Part 1” on May 4, and “Ant-Man and the Wasp” on July 6.

For 2019, “Captain Marvel” will be out on March 8 followed by “The Avengers: Infinity War – part 2" on May 3, and “Inhumans” on July 12, 2019.

Marvel also has announced three additional films that are scheduled to release in 2020. The release dates of these untitled Marvel Studio films are as follows: May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and Nov. 6, 2020.
