Morningstar and Amenadiel will be joined by another brother in “Lucifer” Season 2. Michael Imperioli will be joining the cast this year to play the new character. Meanwhile, the producers justified the casting of Tricia Helfer as the Mother; despite her being just a few years older than Tom Ellis.

[Spoiler alert]

Imperioli will be playing the role of Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Amenadiel’s (D.B. Woodside) brother, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor has been a part of hit TV shows like “The Sopranos” and movies like “Goodfellas.” His most recent projects include “Mad Dogs” and “Hawaii Five-O.”

There was a lot of sibling rivalry between Morningstar and Amenadiel in the first season. This year, however, the two characters will have to unite in order to search for their mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) and take her back to Hell. It is not clear how the new brother will affect the characters on the show.

Addressing the concerns about Helfer’s age, Executive Producer Ildy Modrovich said that they were looking for someone who could make Morningstar and Amenadiel “as uncomfortable as possible” in “Lucifer” Season 2. They found that in Helfer.

Executive Producer Joe Henderson explained that when Charlotte entered Earth she came as a soul searching for a body. The producer added that the Mother of Angels had to go through “a couple of machinations” before ending up in the body she will be seen in on the show.

“Lucifer” Season 2 is set to premiere on Sept. 19. The title of the first episode has been revealed to be “Everything’s Coming Up Lucifer.” The plot of the episode has not been released by the producers yet. More details about the show and a preview video of the episode are expected to be released soon, giving the fans a first look at the Mother of Angels.
