With the Mother of Angels coming to Los Angeles in “Lucifer” Season 2, the show will reveal a new side to Amenadiel. Cast member D.B. Woodside talked about the changes in his character in a recent interview and teased how Charlotte will have an effect on him.

[Spoiler alert]

Speaking with TVOverMind, Woodside (Amenadiel) said that his character has always been closer to his father – God, rather than his mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer). The actor pointed out that his character doesn’t really have a problem with his mother, but it’s just that he hasn’t had much of a relationship with her.

Charlotte escaped from Hell in the finale episode of the first season. According to the official character description, the Mother of Angels intends to spend some time with her sons now that she has escaped. God, however, has tasked his sons with finding their mother and sending her back to Hell.

The Mother of Angels appears to be a formidable character in “Lucifer” Season 2. Woodside revealed that the character will bring out a different side to Amenadiel that the viewers haven’t seen so far. The actor teased that his character will appear “a lot more fragile” this time around.

With Charlotte’s escape, Amenadiel’s priorities have changed. Instead of getting his brother back to Hell; he will now have to work with him to get their mother. The two brothers are supposed to work together, but they each have a different approach on how they should go about their new mission.

Talking about Amenadiel’s personal life in “Lucifer” Season 2, Woodside said that he believes his character is in love with Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt). The report notes, however, that this love may not be reciprocated. Maze is still learning to deal with human emotions, which is a very new experience for her and she is yet to fully understand them.
